More Michigan Adventures

This past Sunday, Matt & I ventured to the west side of the state to Grand Rapids. We visited the Fredrik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. The main point of our visit was the butterfly exhibit, which was amazing. We spotted many of the 40 species that were there.

And we picked a perfect day to go, because it was very spring-y outside. We walked and people watched and enjoyed the fresh air. The number of sculptures there is crazy! And look how huge this horse is. (Yes! That is Matt on the ground underneath the horse)

Domestic Diva-ing

Look! I knit a few stitches this week.
project spectrum grey

Not that exciting, I know. But the scarf is on the needles and on its way. Which is more than has happened in quite some time. It is questionable whether my grey PS project will be an FO before month's end. But I am working on it - and that is progress!

Last weekend, Matt & I made the Sauteed Chicken in a Mustard Cream Sauce recipe from Martha Stewart Everyday Food. White wine, heavy cream and dijon mustard - YUM! It was so freaking good! So good in fact, that I have been craving it all week and decided to make it again last night. See?

Effin' D!

I highly recommend the recipes from Everyday Food. We have made many and they have all turned out really well - super yummy. And, did I mention that they are easy? This weekend we are hoping to try out the Lighter Mac & Cheese recipe. FUN!

Completely out of the loop

Yes, I have been called out and correctly so ... my lack of blogging and knitting is likely due to my new found interest in a boy who lives half way across the state. That is okay with me - I am having a fabulous time! But I do feel slightly guilty for the lack of knitting, the lack of blogging and the lack of reading your blogs.

I have decided that it is time to get back in the loop! So, I learned that Maya announced some awesome news. I also made a visit to my LYS the other day and bought some lovely Blizzard yarn in grey (643). I have to knit up a Blizzard scarf every year - it is so soft and pretty!

And it will work for Project Spectrum - I had to choose just one color out of the three. I couldn't bring myself to knit anything that would remind me of the Detroit Lions. Spring may be arriving soon ... but I can just save this scarf until next fall or for a gift. We shall see!

i heart eames!

Matt & I visited the Henry Ford museum yesterday. They currently have an awesome exhibit called The Eames Lounge Chair: An Icon of Modern Design. It was interesting to see many of the familiar pieces of furniture on display. Good times!
